This beautiful home in Beaufort County on St Helena Island, SC, 29920 was re-sided with James Hardie siding, ColorPlus AUTUMN TAN, Cedarmill Textured Lap Siding, and AUTUMN TAN Hardie Trim and Soffit, both with a wood texture.
Because of our ability to work on difficult structures and our competitive pricing, we were selected to perform an exterior renovation on this home on Saint Helena Island. The original block style home had been added onto several times over the last 40 years in a fashion that made re-siding it a challenge. Many framing adjustments had to be made for the new lap siding to look right.
We replaced old T1-11 siding and soffit with James Hardie Fiber-Cement Building Products. We installed ColorPlus AUTUMN TAN Cedarmill Textured 6 1/2″ Lap Siding and ColorPlus AUTUMN TAN Trim and Soffit. We installed the siding on a 6 ½” lap because the home sits right on the Beaufort River and we wanted to achieve a greater wind rating with the installation. The 6 ½” lap instead of the standard 7″ allows us to drop the “blind nails” down and additional ½” which helps to bind the lap siding to the wall. It also gives a nice tight appearance and a busier look because the spacing between laps is less.
